Introduction
SHUKYU Magazineのアーカイブシリーズ第2弾は、日本サッカーミュージアムの所蔵品を中心に、100年以上の歴史を持つ日本サッカーにまつわる物品を撮影し、まとめた一冊です。
日本サッカーミュージアムは、2003年12月の開館から2023年2月に休館するまで、日本サッカーの過去・現在・未来をつなぐ場所として、国内外の多くのサッカーファンに親しまれてきました。
SHUKYU Magazineでは、2015年5月に刊行された創刊号「ROOTS ISSUE」内でのJFA機関誌『蹴球』の紹介記事から始まり、2号目からは写真家・Gottinghamとの連載「JAPAN FOOTBALL ARCHIVE」の中で、日本サッカーミュージアムの所蔵品を紹介してきました。
今号は、これまで掲載してきたものと、この特別号のために新たに撮影したものを合わせて構成されています。また、簡単な解説もついていますので、それぞれの背後にあるストーリーとともに楽しんでいただければと思います。
1990年代以降の日本サッカーの成長は世界中から注目されていますが、そこに至るまでに多くの先人の方々が積み重ねてきた歴史があり、現在の姿があります。そうした歴史を知ることは、現在はもちろん、未来を考える上でのヒントになるかもしれません。
本というメディアは、もともと記憶を記録として後世に残していくために生まれたものです。今号もそういった役割を少しでも担えればという思いで制作されました。掲載されているものは数ある所蔵品の中のわずか一部なので、この一冊で日本サッカーの歴史すべてを語りきれるわけではありませんが、この本を手に取られたみなさんに、少しでもその魅力を伝えられたらと願っております。

Introduction
The second issue of SHUKYU Magazine's Archive Series is a collection of photographed items related to over 100 years of Japanese football. It mainly features items from the collection of the Japan Football Museum.
Japan Football Museum has been a popular destination for many football fans, serving as a place that connects the past, present, and future of Japanese football. The museum opened in December 2003 and closed in February 2023.
In every issue of the magazine published in the past, we have introduced the collection of the Japan Football Museum. Our first issue, "ROOTS ISSUE,” published in May 2015, featured the JFA journal “SHUKYU.” In subsequent issues, we published a series of articles titled “Japan Football Archive,” with contributions from photographer Gottingham.
This edition consists of items previously introduced in the magazine and newly photographed items for this edition. A brief description of each item is included so that you can enjoy the story behind it.
The rapid growth of Japanese football since the 1990s has attracted attention from around the world. However, we must not forget the history that has been accumulated by many predecessors. Learning about our history can help us think about both the future and the present.
Books, as a medium, were originally created to record people's memories and knowledge, passing them on to future generations. We have produced this book with the hope that it will play such a role. This book cannot tell the entire history of Japanese football; the items introduced here represent only a small portion of the vast collection. We hope that our readers will find it as fascinating as we do.
